George is a good friend with Pastor Ben and will share is experience with the "Power of Prayer" during our Sunday Morning Worship Service.
George was born and raised in RI. After high school, he joined the USAF and a year later was selected to attend the USAF Academy Prep school and then the Academy. For the next 20 years after graduation, he either flew airplanes like the B-52 and the KC-10 or was involved in the development and delivery of major weapons systems to all three services. His final assignment was head of the organization that oversaw the final production and acceptance of the presidential airplanes known as AF-1. After retirement from the USAF, George served in various positions with major corporations and as a consultant.
For the past 30 years, George’s first love has been to serve in Jesus’ ministry to men, for men and through men. He has served as an Ambassador with Promise Keepers and been part of the Man in the Mirror and the Building Brothers Ministries. He has served within the UMC in many roles at local churches as well as at Jurisdictional and national levels. He is certified as a Men Ministry Specialist and serves the Great Plains Annual Conference as their Director for ministry to, for and through men.
While flying in California, George met and married Lynda. They have been married for almost 40 years. With the help of Jesus, they blended five children into a family that has now grown to 15 grandkids and 8 great grandkids spread from Okinawa, Japan to London, England.
